A Guide To Choosing The Right Leather For Furniture Part 2

Leather Reclining Sectionals near Springfield, IL

We are back with the second article of our series, where we are discussing the different types of leather that are used to upholster furniture. It’s important to do your research so you feel absolutely confident in the purchases you make when you visit Peerless Furniture. Let’s check out the next style of leather that you may be interested in for your furniture.

Top-grain leather is the second option and second best in quality for upholstery. This leather has been sanded down to remove all the imperfections from the top layer of the hide. One of the benefits of this style is that it is going to be more affordable than full grain. It still has a very high-end feel, but it won’t have the same price tag. This type of leather has a smooth finish because of the sanding. This will give you a uniform appearance. Lastly, durability is also not an issue with this type of leather, although it is not quite as good as full-grain. It is perfectly suitable for everyday use and homes with pets or children. The downside is that it is going to be less breathable than the more expensive option. With full-grain leather, you will get a beautiful pantena over time as the leather ages. This top-grain leather will not develop the same character as the full-grain. That isn’t quite a large issue for most buyers.

We will discuss a couple of other leather options in the next article of this series. Until then, you can head over to Peerless Furniture and chat with one of their team members about the amazing leather reclining sectionals near Springfield, IL.
